Course Materials
All the materials you need are included in the course. You do not have to buy any additional textbooks.
Assignments
You will complete these assignments during the course.
This course focuses on socialization through a variety of reading assignments. There are six units. After each lesson in the unit, Self Check questions check your comprehension of the reading material. These questions are not graded but will help you to prepare for the Unit Quizzes.
Unit Quizzes
Unit Quiz questions require application to real life and not just memorization of what you have read. These questions do count toward your grade.
Personal Enhancement Exercises
In units 1 through 6, the personal enhancement exercises give you the opportunity to apply the unit’s information to situations you see around you, whether at home, at school, in the media, or in your own personal experiences. Instructions for completing these assignments are included in each unit. These assignments will not be submitted for a grade; they are to help you see where you stand in relation to the information taught in each unit.
Each of these exercises is explained within the corresponding unit. If you would like, you could keep these in a personal binder, folder, or journal and refer to them every few years to see how your personality or views change as you progress in life.
Exams
You will complete one final exam for this course. See the Exam Preparation page for details.
The final exam consists of about sixty questions. Forty-eight questions come directly from the Unit Quiz and Self Check questions. Twelve are new questions for you to analyze, showing how well you can relate what you have learned to real life.
