Assignments
Seven units are included in this course. Read the outcomes for each unit before you begin to study it. Each lesson includes questions to be considered as you read your text, and may include discussion material, quizzes, and learning experiences. All of the lessons in each unit are provided to help you understand tennis and practice basic tennis skills. You should practice tennis regularly as a part of this course.
Unit Quizzes
Unit quizzes appear at the end of each unit. The unit quizzes for units 1 through 6 and the Review Quiz will make up thirty-five percent of your grade. They include multiple-choice, true/false, and personal experience questions.
Practice Log and Skills Evaluation
The Practice Log and Skills Evaluation assignment in unit seven consists of a skills test and a practice log. The skills test will require another tennis player to check off each skill/activity as you perform it. The tennis practice log requires six weeks of practice, which you will record in a provided activity log and submit as part of your unit 7 assignment. Required practice time durations and corresponding assignment grade can be found on the practice log form.
Exams
The final exam is comprehensive and is worth 35 percent of your final grade. The final consists of questions similar to questions from the unit quizzes. If you have clearly understood and mastered the lesson and course outcomes, you should do well on the final. The last module of this course, Preparing for the Final Exam, provides additional information on how you can best prepare for the final exam.
